Function
As a Classic ASP software developer, you typically work on large projects supporting existing code as part of a team. You work with the six built-in objects: Application, ASPError, Server, Session, Requestand Response. You interact with project managers, database administrators and user interface designers. You function independently and proactively test your work. Programmers typically work a 40-hour week, although as deadlines approach, longer hours are more typical.
Required Skills and Experience
Advanced experience in Microsoft Structured Query Language Server language, Hyper Text Markup Language, JavaScript, and Cascading Style Sheets is typically required. Expertise in Windows application development is a plus. VBScript Version 6 is usually required. ASP developer jobs usually require a bachelor's degree in computer science along with additional certificates in specialized fields particular to the company. Local restrictions regarding citizenship apply in some cases.
